The Experience

Liège

408772725_10228484339006443_1525043719060738031_n.jpg

The Liège-Guillemins train station is one of the most striking architectural landmarks in Belgium and often the first impression visitors get of the city. Redesigned by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava and reopened in 2009, the station features a curved structure of steel, glass, and white concrete that floods the interior with natural light.

We’ll take time to stroll through the beautiful Parc de la Boverie, a peaceful park along the river that’s perfect for unwinding and enjoying scenic views, with a warm cup of coffee or tea paired with a selection of traditional Belgian cookies and some stories. It’s the ideal way to experience a different side of Liège before continuing the journey across borders.

Three Country Point

At the Three-Country Point in Vaals, you’ll stand at a unique spot where the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany meet. Known as the Drielandenpunt, this iconic location lets you quite literally step across borders in just a few seconds. Surrounded by forests and scenic viewpoints, it’s a fun and symbolic stop on the journey. You can climb the nearby observation tower for panoramic views over all three countries making it a memorable highlight of the tour.

Aachen

In Aachen, we’ll head up to the Lousberg viewpoint, a peaceful hill just outside the city center that offers stunning panoramic views over Aachen and its surroundings. It’s the perfect spot to take in the landscape, snap some photos, and enjoy a quiet moment above the city. Surrounded by greenery and walking paths, the Lousberg adds a relaxing, scenic touch to the tour while giving you a unique perspective on this historic German city.

Maastricht

In Maastricht, you’ll discover one of the most charming and vibrant cities in the Netherlands. Known for its lively atmosphere, historic architecture, and cozy cafés, the city blends rich history with a relaxed, modern vibe. We’ll explore the beautiful old town, stroll through picturesque streets, and pass iconic spots like the Vrijthof square and the St. Servatius Bridge. It’s the perfect place to soak in culture, enjoy local food, and experience the unique Dutch-Burgundian lifestyle before wrapping up the tour.

Testimonials

Jennifer B.

We absolutely loved this tour, and Joris was a great guide and host! As a local, he knows all the best spots, sometimes off the beaten path, that travelers wouldn't usually find. As a professional, he had a great cadence for the stops and activities and was able to match our energies; when we were talkative he conversed, when we were quiet he let us rest. He had coffee for the early morning start when we needed it and plenty of snacks and meals along the way.

This tour was miraculous and awesome, going through three countries in one day. Especially crossing the border by car was a valuable first for those of us who live in the island nation. I walked around feeling various differences.
Our guide, Mr. Joris, was very knowledgeable and taught us about Belgian, Dutch and German culture, history and language. We also enjoyed lots of local food.
And he is a friendly, caring and reliable guide.
We are happy to be part of a tour that is so fun. Thank you for everything. When you come to Belgium, I recommend you join Joris' tour.

This tour from Liège to Aachen and Maastricht was an excellent experience. I did the tour alone, but Joris’ professionalism and kindness made me feel at ease immediately. He ensures that you never run out of things and also provides a good balance between guided activities and leisure.

In short, highly recommended for those who want to visit three special cities in a relaxed way!
